A fast defrost tray can make you say goodbye to waiting

It’s bad enough to forget to defrost your meat until you’re about to cook a meal, but it’s even worse when you forget to defrost your meat after fasting all day. As a result, we wanted to see if the ‘fast defrosting tray’ we found on Shopee actually worked. This fast defrost tray appears to be based on the idea that when a cold item touches a warm item, the cold item warms up and vice versa.

The fast defrost tray is made of aluminum, and its description claims that it has a “thermal conductivity 20,000 times that of ordinary metals.” It’s a bold claim, but as long as it works, who cares? Fatin put it to the test by removing two frozen pieces of meat and placing one on the fast defrost tray while leaving the other in its original packaging.

The slab of meat on the fast defrost tray appears to have worked fairly well in just 10 minutes, with the normal meat being noticeably more frozen than the one on the tray. The surface is also almost completely defrosted. It’s essentially a large heatsink for your frozen meat. It can also be used for fish and poultry, in addition to meat. If you forget to defrost your meat before getting ready to cook for buka puasa, this fast defrost tray could come in handy.

Here’s the link to the fast defrost tray that we got off Shopee. It starts at RM10.97 for the smallest sized tray, but the one Fatin tested out specifically was the largest one which costs RM14.97.
