It’s great to have all of the latest kitchen gadgets and accessories, but storing and cleaning them is often such a chore that I end up doing things manually, especially when I only have a single task. The Cuisinart Cordless Mini Prep Pro is a one-of-a-kind mini food processor that is cordless for convenience, easy to store, and ideal for small jobs.

It works flawlessly, and the battery lasts a long time, making it an indispensable tool in my kitchen

Key Features

  • AccessoriesThis cordless blender has a dual-blade assembly – sharp on one side for cutting, and blunt on the other for grinding
  • Battery lifeYou get up to 15 minutes of run-time from a charge, which is enough to cut around 60 onions

According to the images, the Cuisinart Cordless Mini Prep Pro resembles any other food processor. What you can’t see is that it’s much smaller than a standard model, with only a 900ml capacity. In fact, it’s small enough to fit inside my pan drawers and under the stove. The Cordless Mini Prep Pro is a little smaller than the KitchenAid Cordless Food Chopper , but its smaller size makes it easier to store.

There’s also the older Cuisinart CH4BCU Mini Food Processor, which is very similar, though it’s not nearly as convenient to use.

Each button functions similarly to the pulse button on a traditional food processor: you must continue to hold it down in order for it to work.

The controls are only functional when the processor’s lid is closed. After removing the lid, you can detach the jug from the base to pour out the contents and wash it.

You can remove the blade unit, but you’ll need some force to do so because it clicks into place. It may not appear to be removable, but it is. Everything except the motor base can be thrown in the dishwasher, making cleanup a breeze.

Performance

  • Powerful enough for most small jobs
  • Good battery life

There’s a powerful-enough motor inside the Cuisinart Cordless Mini Prep Pro (wattage is not quoted). It’s a step down from the motor sizes you’d find on a full-sized food processor, but with the smaller bowl and the type of tasks for which you’ll be using it, you’re unlikely to require any more power.

I started by preparing some stuffing for a roast dinner. Making breadcrumbs with fresh slices of bread was easy, although I did have to do the job in batches because of the small capacity. Next, I put in a quartered onion.

Should you buy it?

If you frequently blitz small amounts of food for marinades and the like, this is a handy tool that you’ll find yourself using again and again.

If you only have room for one kitchen gadget and need some versatility, a good food processor is a better option.
